Tandem Santiago visited us in Valparaíso
Stefan, the director of Tandem Santiago visited us in Valparaíso. In the meeting we worked on improving the schools' appearance in Internet. After this we hat a nice dinner together in a typical restaurant of Valparaíso before we closed the 'session' in one of the bars near the seaport and the beach which really could be an interesting meeting point for Spanish students also.
Once more we got the impression that Tandem Santiago is a Spanish school working efficient.

Situation of the school
Without any doubt, the location of the Violeta Parra Spanish School is awesome: In the Bellavista quarter, few steps from the house of the Pablo Neruda, at the bottom the Cerro San Cristobal (mountain in the middle of the town), homestead of the zoo and various parks.
Violeta Parra Spanish School is one of the Spanish schools which can review at a large history and which have a lot of experience, so you can be sure not to stay with a 'newcomer' presuming upon the 'boom'.

German administration
Head of the school is Stefan, a German living in Chile since many, many years. His right hand is Maria Eugenia, the academic director.
The interior furnishings are functional and purposive - even sitting a long time on your seat, like Spanish students willing to study do, you would no stand up with backache, says Stefan. And you can trust him.
Visiting the school we could observe 3 classes in action - and we noticed that the schools aims to please, that there they are teaching really Spanish well.

Accommodation
Finally Stefan brought us to a students' residence collaborating with and offered by the school: A nice place, with lounge, common rooms, garden with pool, wifi etc., surely a good opportunity for someone who wants to stay among young people from Chile studying at the universities of Santiago de Chile - nearly a guarantee to improve the Spanish skills daily arising from the necessity to communicate with the flatmates.
In addition to this accommodation the Violeta Parra Spanish School offers also home stays with families and in shared apartments. If you plan to stay with a family, ask well if the offered family is what you are searching for, because there is a wide range within the type of families: From 'middle class family with children' up to 'mini student residences'.

Summary
Resuming, particularly with regard to the structural changes in early 2007, Violeta Parra Spanish School can be recommended as a place where you would learn Spanish and you would have fun - it's not an 'alternative', it's a 'first selection' Spanish school, not also recommended by www.spanishcourses.info but even every year marked with the awards of languagecourse.net, the world leading language travel agency.
