Changed location ... inauguration party

After changing location, we were invited to the inauguration party of Academia Buenos Aires.

The party was like the school on its new location: PROFESSIONAL.

Very personal and familiar atmosphere

Without any doubt the Spanish language school Academia Buenos Aires is part of the schools which are providing a very personal and familiar atmosphere.

We had the luck to have been invited once more to a Argentinean barbecue in the house of one of the school's directors.

Everybody will note that this school is trying all that the students will stay fine and in an nice ambience.

Just another school in downtown Buenos Aires?

Definitely not ! The people at Academia Buenos Aires have shown us that their academy is special in many respects. We were received by the academy’s founders, Maria (from Argentina, trained psychologist), Virginia (from Uruguay, a contemporary dancer), Utz (from Germany, sociology professor) and Francisco (from Argentina, actor), as well as by the academic coordinator, Cecilia (from Argentina), and an intern, Carlos (from France). The size and diversity of the staff give you an idea of the school: they are a medium-sized school, growing fast, very well connected locally and internationally, and apparently very professional and serious in all they do. They are the ideal mix of the seriousness of the very large schools and the personalization and individualized feeling you get at the very small schools.

When talking with the staff we found that they pay a lot of attention to the choice of their teachers. The school’s philosophy is that the teachers not only have to be qualified with a relevant university degree and have teaching experience, they also have to be highly motivated and welcoming to foreign students. In exchange, they are paid extremely well.

Location

The academy is located one block away from Plaza de Mayo, which is as central as it gets. We enjoyed the great view of the historic district from their windows, and also the old monastery just down below. From here the academy starts most of their excursions which are part of the rich cultural program they offer. Given the diverse background of the founders, it comes as no surprise that this program is well organized, covering all kinds of aspects of life in Argentina! We were told that this is part of the immersion experience the school offers to its students.

Extremely impressed by this school, we were then invited to an asado (grill party with real argentine beef … and wine !!) at Utz’s and Virginia’s place. There we met the crowd of students again, as this is part of the extracurricular program, too !! If you want to combine academic excellency with great service and a large variety of argentine experiences, Academia Buenos Aires is definitely for you !
