Description of SET IDIOMAS

OUR SCHOOL

  

SET IDIOMAS is a language teaching center founded in 1999 in the city of Córdoba, Argentina.

Our school is both an Associate Center of the Instituto Cervantes (Spain) and an active member of the SEA (Argentine Association of Language Centers). Moreover, we are the only Spanish school in Córdoba recommended by Lonely Planet.

Our comfortable facilities are located just 10 minutes walk from the downtown area, in a quiet neighborhood which provides the ideal setting for language lessons.

All our teachers are native speakers, hold university qualifications in language teaching, and are widely experienced.

Moreover, we deeply care about our students academic success and it is a priority for us to offer them a supportive and cozy environment during their stay in town. That is why all of us work closely together to ensure that our students feel at home and encouraged to learn and achieve their best.

Our courses

  

All our Spanish courses are designed for students to progressively develop communication skills specific to the Spanish language and to the Hispanic and Latin American cultures. They are organized in 6 levels of proficiency, based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR): Basic User (A1, A2), Independent User (B1, B2) and Competent User (C1, C2).

Our courses offer a dynamic learning environment and personalized teacher dedication. Fees include all the study materials and class hours last 55 minutes.

Our teaching methodology

  

Our teaching method is focused on communication (speaking, writing, listening and reading) with regard to everyday situations.

Although grammar rules and structure are an important part of our methodology, we intend to reach them through inductive reasoning instead of presenting them as a standard to be reproduced by memorization.

This enables our students to develop a 'practical ability'.

The communicative perspective demands highly interactive classes and emphasizes the spontaneous and creative use of the Spanish language.

Cultural and leisure activities

There are plenty of cultural and leisure activities available to our students weekly (most of them free of charge).

They include, among others, city tours, guided visits to local museums, soccer games, phonetics workshop, cooking classes, movie showings in Spanish, bar/disco outings, or trips to the main tourist destinations in the Province of Córdoba and Argentina.
