NESoL (San Juan)
Thank you for your interest in Instituto Internacional Euskalduna. IIE is the first private language school to offer an Immersion program in Puerto Rico.
Located in Hato Rey, in one of the city’s oldest buildings, the school is on the first floor for convenient access, offering a spacious reception area and 8 air-conditioned classrooms with TV/VCR. We also have indoor parking and computer room with free Internet access for students.
IIE has 6 language levels and classes are Monday-Friday 10am to 2pm. Maximum group enrollment is 6 students, the average being 3 per group.We also offer activities.
Travel/Visas
No passport or visa is required for US citizens entering Puerto Rico. Citizens from other countries must have their passport and visas updated by the proper authorities.
Money
Being a commonwealth,Puerto Rico uses the same currency, mail system and laws as in the United States.
Climate
The average year-round temperature fluctuates between 75 and 90 degrees. Sept-Nov is rainier than the rest of the year.
Activities
At least one activity is run by the school per week, students decide which activity they are interested in, a small fee might apply to some activities.
IIE uses the Communicative Approach to language learning. The focus of this approach is to communicate in meaningful contexts that one may encounter in real-life situations. Instructors establish situations that promote communication and practice in all four language-learning skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. In every class, students move from what they already know in structured practices, to less-structured and finally open activities. This process ensures that students have both knowledge of the grammatical structures and that they can master the language in communicative situations.
