We offer Spanish courses that reach all the requirements of the Instituto de Cervantes. Flexible courses, groups or private classes. On the South west coast of Andalusia near to the cities of Seville, Jerez and Cádiz, the academy is located in a picturesque area famous for its sunny skies and blue waters.
It is close to the ancient city of Cádiz and Seville and a 5 minute walk form the unspoilt beaches that surround Chipiona. There are 5 well equipped, spacious classrooms with air-conditioning. Internet access is available.
Lighthouse Languages is a small, friendly but professional school with all the opportunities of larger schools.
At Lighthouse Languages you will be speaking and writing in Spanish confidently in a short space of time.
Our study material is provided free of charge with the aim of assisting you at every stage of the course and after.
We teach all levels and our courses have much success because there are no foreign tourists and only Spanish is spoken. You ‘ll have every opportunitiy to practice from the first day and you‘ll make the maximum progress during your stay with us.
The number of students per class is between 4 and 8 and you‘ll get individual attention from the teacher. You‘ll advance faster, communicate better and gain more confidence!
Having fun is an essential part of the learning process. When you are relaxed it is the best time to use naturally what you have learned in class.
It is for this reason that Lighthouse Languages will help you discover Spain as it really is. We do optional excursions to Seville, Cádiz, Tarifa, Morocco, Jerez and local bodegas and ferías.
With all this going on there is plenty to occupy your time but if you‘re out for something more adventurous why not try kite-surfing, wind-surfing, horse-riding, golf and flamenco lessons. Or if you prefer to relax after your morning classes why not just relax on one of Chipiona's white sandy bays.
This peaceful centre of Spanish summer tourism is famous for its sunny skies, the blue waters and it‘s delicious Mediterranean gastronomy. All of which has yet to be discovered by foreign tourists. The location of Chipiona means that you will have the maximum opportunity to practice and improve your Spanish.
Chipiona has an unusually vibrant and artistic atmosphere and the area has many bars and discos. These places have a lot of character and a unique Andalusian style. There is a varied night life and and impressive cultural life due to artists moving to the area in order to capture its distinctive light which provides unusual sunsets.
We have 3 options for accommodation for you to choose from, depending on your wants and needs, and your budget.
Self catering apartments, Host family, Hotels/Hostals
Our most popular choice are the apartments and they are the wisest if you want to have the flexibility and independence to fully enjoy the Spanish lifestyle.
The apartments have 2 to 3 bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and bathroom. You can opt for a single or double room and in each apartment there is a balcony or terrace where you can enjoy the beautiful sunsets of the area. Don‘t forget your beach towels!
We can also arrange accommodation in hotels or apartments too.
A typical day of a Lighthouse student:
09:00 - Have a coffe with students before class.
09:30 - Spanish grammar class. Lighthouse teachers transform a grammar class into an interesting activity.
11:00 - have breakfast with students and teachers. a typical breakfast is toast with Serrano ham and coffee and freshly squeezed orange juice.
11:30 - Vocabulary and conversation class.
13:00 - End of class, buy good food in the market and have lunch with friends, plan for the afternoon. The weather is beautiful so go to the beach and sunbathe.
21:00 - Spanish cooking night. Students and teachers meet to prepare a typical Andalusian meal! mmmm!
