Description of Babel Idiomas

BABEL idiomas was founded in 1999 as an international centre for language learning. Since then we have offered quality language courses to students of all ages, nationalities and backgrounds.

We are located in the heart of Málaga, in the city’s main shopping street, and a few minutes walk from places of cultural interest, like the Cathedral, the Picasso Museum or the Gibralfaro and Alcazaba Castles, and not forgetting the beach, which is only 15 minutes away.

BABEL is known amongst its students as a friendly language school with a warm atmosphere and a personal touch.

We offer various types of Spanish courses. You can take the Standard General Spanish courses with 20 weekly lessons in small groups of maximum 8 students, or you can combine this course with 6 extra weekly lessons in minigroups (max 3 students) of Spanish for business, Spanish for law, Spanish for Medicine, Spanish for the tourism industry o Spanish literature. We can also prepare you for the official DELE examinations.

Our teachers are university graduates and are highly experienced in teaching Spanish to foreign students. Therefore, classes are dynamic and entertaining.

All teachers have a weekly meeting with our Director of Studies to monitor each student’s progress. This way we ensure that all the students make the most of their course.

Spanish is used in class from the beginning, so the student never stops learning. Our courses have been designed to concentrate on the essential language skills: reading, writing, speaking and listening.

The best way to practise Spanish and get to know the culture is by living with a Spanish family.

All our families are selected personally by us and are monitored on a regular basis. The host family provides you with half board (breakfast and lunch or diner) and will always do their best to make you feel at home.

If you want a more international living environment, you can share apartment with other students from the school. You will find this an enriching experience and a chance to learn about many different cultures. All apartments are fully furnished and are cleaned on a regular basis

After class, we organise many activities for our students to practise their Spanish and get to know Málaga and Andalusia.

On weekdays, we visit the Cathedral, Alcazaba castle or Picasso Museum, as well as other interesting sites of Malaga. We also organize parties or "Tapa Tours" and dance classes, apart from our popular "Malaga shopping tour" where we will show you the best buys in Malaga. At the weekend we go on excursions to other interesting historical places like Seville, Cordoba, Ronda, Nerja or Granada.

While you are in Malaga, we also offer the possibility to practise your Spanish with the locals in our Tandem exchange.

Malaga is the capital of the Costa del Sol, and offers its visitors not only good weather and lovely sandy beaches, but also a lot to see and to do. It's a great place to live and study Spanish.

It's easy to get around the city, as public transport is well organized and most interesting places are withing walking distance. The centre of Malaga, where our school is situated, is all pedestrian, which makes it pleasent to walk around for some shopping or having something to drink with friends on a terrace.

One of the best things of Malaga is it's people, the Malagueños. They are friendly and open and are always ready for a chat.
