Description of Alem

Would you like to study in Buenos Aires, only a few metres away from Plaza de Mayo or Puerto Madero with this wonderful view? This picture was taken from Alem School’s balcony. But, why would you choose us? In Alem School, your teacher is also the school’s owner, because Alem School is the project of a group of gaduates from Buenos Aires University, with many years of teaching experience. So, this is the same people who teaches you in class that offers your their school, not only to study but also to use Internet, listen to music, meet new people, arrange new plans.

Reaching the school is really confortable, because it’s only a few metres away from Plaza the Mayo and Puerto Madero, in the city center. The subway (B line) takes you to the school’s corner, and this way you avoid any kind of traffic jam. If you prefer busses, just tell the driver to tell you know when he arrives at Plaza Roma. There’s no way for you to get lost!

Courses are designed according to your needs, whether you are a traveler, a professional or an executive, organized in 6 levels according to the Common European Frame of Reference for Languages. Group classes are up to five students, in order to give you a personalized following or your difficulties. Alem gives you all the requiered materials for your course (text books and video) and prepares you effectively to take the DELE exam. We also have an agreement with Buenos Aires University in case you prefer to take that exam.

Did you think the learning process was only in the classroom? As you can see in the picture every Tuesday, teachers and students play an amazing football match in San Telmo Club’s football fields. Then, they share a relaxing 'third half' a few metres away from the club, in tradicional resturant called Manolo’s.

And for those who prefer more traditional activities, the institute also organizes social outgoings, visiting places such as 'tanguerías'.

In Alem School we don’t mind if you study in other school, if you visit Buenos Aires and you are near Plaza de Mayo, just drop by. In our school you’ll find free courses such as how to dance tango, who Gardel really was and why songs always talk about nostalgia. Believe it or not, our teachers have their own tango band, and it is possible to find them playing in a bar some day in Buenos Aires. This is true, these courses are free, all you have to do is sing up and come!
