San Sebastián (Donostia in Basque) is the capital city of the province of Guipúzcoa, in the Spanish autonomous community of Basque Country.

The famous aristocratic beach resort of great reputation during last century still conserves its exclusive and cosmopolitan ambience.

Its beautiful buildings and excellent beaches still today make it a privileged holiday destination.

Tamborrada

The fiesta starts on the 20th of January at 00.00 h when the flag is raised by the "Gaztelubide" Tamborrada in the former Town Hall, now town library, located in the "Constitución" Square.

For 24 hours the town is a fiesta of drums and barrels, the hymns by Sarriegui can be heard in all quarters.
