► Basic information on Puerto Rico
San Juan is the capital of Puerto Rico.
The city is located in the northeastern part of the island. It is the oldest city under US Flag and Puerto Rico's principal seaport, as well as the main manufacturing, financial, cultural, and tourist center of the island.

La Muralla
La Muralla –the city wall:
Built mostly between 1539 and 1641 using sandstone blocks up to 20 feet/6 meters thick, the wall was completed in 1782.
It protected the city against enemy attacks. At the western mouth of the bay you will see Isla de Cabras (Goat Island), and a small Spanish fort built in 1610.
City Hall
City Hall (Alcaldía), : Completed in 1789the town hall was built to resemble Madrid's City Hall in Spain.
Preserving its function as a city hall today and it has also a small gallery for periodic exhibitions.
