THE CLOCK OF THE PLAZA MAYOR
The clock of the Plaza Mayor is obviously the most famous meeting point of Salamanca. It's the central point of the town and it's known by everybody. A lot of young and old people stay there throughout the day to have lunch, to have a walk, to have dinner or to out at night. It is a busy focal point of Salamanca and there are always people just relaxing or waiting under the clock.

At the end of the Rua Mayor, the street which goes from the Plaza Mayor to the Cathedral, you'll find the hostel Catedral. This Hostal is close to the Plaza Anaya, the Palacio Anaya and the Cathedral. All the rooms are full equipped with their own bathrooms and have been renewed recently. The price is 45 euros per night for a double room.

On the Dimas Magariaga street, there is bar called "El Antonio". There, they cook the best potatoes of Salamanca. You can also eat diferents "raciones" of tipical Spanish food. For exemple the "patatas meneas" o the "pimientos de podrón", only some of them itch ¡Good luck! You can eat there for just 10 or 12 euros.
THE CERVANTES RESTAURANT

In the Plaza Mayor, you will find the restaurant Cervantes. Here, during the winter, you will have the opportunity to have lunch or diner in the first floor, where you can enjoy very beautiful views while you are eating.
In the summer time, you can have lunch or diner in the terrace, located in the Plaza Mayor. You will also be able eat traditional Spanish foods; like 'Raciones' or 'platos combinados'. You will have to taste the 'croquetas'; they are delicious.
THE ALDEHUELA PARK
Salamanca
20 minutes away from the city centre you will find a big sports park.: The Aldehuela Park. You will can practise there several kind of sports (some of them for free), like football, basketball, rugby, tennis, frontenis, etc. In the middle of June the public swimming pool opens. There is a very big lawn and toboggans.
The Aldehuela Park is the best place to have a nice day with your friends and family. Moreover you can easily go there by bus. You have to take the bus number 8 in the city centre, there is one each 20 minutes.
