Valencia
Valencia is one of the largest cities in Spain, and among the liveliest. It is located right on the Mediterranean Sea and you will find bright beaches, fantastic possibilities for any kind of sports, a boiling nightlife.
Together with lots of cultural appeal learning Spanish in Valencia has become very popular. Valencia is also famous for its Paella Valenciana, just one of the many examples of its excellent cuisine. During Corpus Cristi is the Fallas de San Jose Festival were the Valencianos build huge bonfires and celebrate throughout the night.

Huge cultural patrimony
Valencia has a huge cultural patrimony, it's a city with a long and interesting history. Back in the XIV and XV centuries, Valencia City was one of the most important and prosperous Spanish cities.
You may visit many old monuments like the Towers of Serranos and Quart, the Lonja, the Cathedral, the old Market, the Carmen Quarter, but also modern places such as the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences (constructed by the famous architect Santiago Calatrava), IVAM and MUVIM museums, etc.

Spain’s vegetable garden
Valencia is known throughout for its oranges, rice dishes and fresh vegetables.
No wonder it is called 'Spain's vegetable garden'. In the markets of Valencia you will find all these products, like oranges, vegetables, etc. together with the freshest fish and meat.
The city is also jam-packed with bars and restaurants where you can enjoy having Tapas and eating the best Paella (originally from Valencia) in the world.

Fallas de Valencia
Some of the most important festivals that take place in Valencia city are:
Las Fallas, a world known festival in which the whole city becomes a huge powder keg full of music and colour for five long days, which culminate with the burning of more than 800 papier-mâché monuments around the city.

Feria de Julio
During the whole month of July, under a bright sun, we have the 'Feria de Julio' with plenty of daily activities such as concerts, open air cinema, bullfights, etc.

Tomatina
Regarding to other festivals, one of the more original is the also world-famous 'Tomatina', a festival held on the third week of August in a village very near Valencia in which, after a night of drinking and dancing, everybody gets involved in a peacefully wild 'Tomato War'
